Step 3

Annual costs to plan for

These are recurring, so they are kept out of the project estimate and shown separately.

A first year of hosting may be included in a specific project or promotional package — if so it is shown as included and not charged again here.

What Drives The Price

Why two “same” websites cost very differently

Design depth

A well-chosen template and a bespoke design system are both legitimate answers, but they are not the same job. Bespoke means designing every layout, testing it at each breakpoint and building the components that let you reuse it later.

What happens after the pages

Forms are cheap. Forms that route leads to the right inbox, block spam, record the source and survive a change of staff are a different amount of work — and that difference is where most “surprise” quotes come from.

Content readiness

The single biggest schedule risk. If copy, photos, logos and page approvals arrive late, the build stalls while everything else waits. Buying content writing up front usually costs less than a stalled project.

Commerce and payments

A store means product data, variants, tax and shipping rules, gateway testing, failed-payment handling and order records. Each is small alone and collectively is why stores sit above brochure sites.

SEO done during the build

Titles, descriptions, canonicals, sitemap, structured data, image weights and clean URLs are cheap to build in and expensive to retrofit. A site that ranks is usually a site where SEO was part of the build, not an add-on afterwards.

Ownership and handover

You should be able to leave with your code, your domain and your analytics. Where that is unclear, the cheapest quote often becomes the most expensive website.

One-Time vs Annual

The number that matters is the second year

A website has two cost stories and mixing them is how budgets go wrong. The first is the one-time build: design, pages, forms, integrations, SEO setup and launch. The second is everything that keeps existing after launch — your domain renewal, hosting, maintenance and support, and any content or SEO work you continue each month.

This calculator deliberately keeps them apart. The headline figure is the project estimate only. Annual items are listed underneath it, because a ₹3,000–₹10,000 maintenance plan is not part of “what the website cost” and should never be buried inside it. Where a first year of hosting is included in a package, it is shown as included rather than charged twice.

The same rule applies to third-party fees. Payment gateways take a percentage of every transaction, premium plugins and themes are licensed separately, and any paid API bills on usage. Those go to the provider, not to us, and they are excluded from every estimate here.

One more honest note: the ranges above are our published indicative bands, not a market survey. We do not show a crossed-out “market price” or an invented discount, because you would rightly distrust it.

Questions, Answered

Website cost questions

How much does a website cost in India?

For most Indian small and mid-size businesses a realistic range runs from about ₹10,000 for a clean 10-page business site to ₹90,000 for a full store with payments, and higher for custom applications. Anyone quoting a single fixed price before asking about your pages, integrations and content has not scoped your project.

Why does this calculator show a range instead of a price?

Because a single number would be invented. Two sites that both look like “about 10 pages” can differ by 3× depending on content readiness, integrations, design depth and how much testing they need. The range is honest: it narrows as soon as we see your actual requirements.

Are hosting, domain and GST included in the estimate?

No. Domain renewal, hosting renewal and maintenance are annual costs shown separately so they are never hidden inside the project total. GST is extra where applicable. Third-party fees such as payment gateway charges, premium plugins and licensed data are also excluded.

What makes a website cost more?

Custom design versus a template, e-commerce and payment flows, booking or member areas, multilingual setup, content you need written for you, migrating an existing catalogue or database, and how much SEO work goes in before launch. Each one is a separate decision you can switch on above.

How long does a website take to build?

The indicative timeline next to each package is what we typically see: 1–3 weeks for a basic business site, 2–5 weeks for a professional site with a blog, 4–8 weeks for a store, and 6–16+ weeks for a custom application. The biggest variable is not the code — it is how quickly content, logos and approvals arrive.

Does using this calculator commit me to anything?

No. Nothing you enter leaves your browser until you press the WhatsApp button, and even then you review the message before sending it. It is a planning tool, not a sign-up form.
